WATER JET CUTTING
Direct Track Solutions, in line with our policy and ISO9001 status, of continuous improvement of our services and products, have recently invested in a water jet cutting machine.
What is waterjet cutting?
Our Wardjet E1515 machine, with proven durability and dependability, has a bed size of 1.5m x 1.5m, operating at 60,000 psi. Our water jet cutter is able to high precision cut a range of materials up to 12” thick including:-
- Alloys
- Steel
- Laminates
- Rubber
- Composites
- Plastics
- Fibre-glass
- Marble
It is a versatile, cost effective cutting process, using a water jet for most materials but can be used with an abrasive where necessary, to deal with harder to cut materials, without compromising on quality. There are many benefits over the conventional laser, plasma and oxy-fuel cutting, these being:
- No heat affected zone
- Precise cutting with close nesting which in turn eliminates waste, therefore offering cost savings
- Environmental advantages include a safer environment for operatives as it is a cleaner process and recycling of abrasives
- A superior quality finish to tolerances of +/-0.005”
